事务所 Studio
号外建筑设计事务所于2018年5月成立于苏州，设计服务包括城市设计、项目前期策划、建筑设计、室内设计、施工控制等。主创建筑师均毕业于一流名校，并拥有多年大院及著名事务所的工作经验，其中三人为国家一级注册建筑师。事务所从成立之初，就坚持采用设计研究和设计实践相结合的工作方式，针对项目的具体条件和要求，从建筑学的基本问题出发，以设计策略和形式操作驱动设计，而非固守特定的风格，从而产生真正具有活力的当代建筑。
事务所成立以来，完成了无锡3W科创办公空间、上海易高公司室内、常州金坛上阮村游客服务中心改建及水库驿站和民宿、苏州锦帆路私宅改建等项目，苏州苏福路科创基地研发大楼、南京六合程桥胡云教堂、苏州吴中城南消防站、苏州莲花峰路幼儿园、苏州56文创园等项目正在陆续施工中。
事务所不仅是建筑生产和研究的机构，也是学生和年轻设计师学以致用，通过实践提升自己能力的平台。自成立以来，有众多实习生和前同事顺利申请到了包括AA、巴特莱特、代尔夫特、米兰理工等在内的名校。
Founded in May 2018 in Suzhou, Howhy Architects provides various design service, including urban design, pre-project planning, architectural design, interior design, construction control. The principal architects all graduated from top universities’ architectural department, with years of working experience in design institutes and famous architectural offices. Three of them are Chinese Class 1 registered architects.
Our studio insists on combining design practice with design research. Starting from each project’s specific context and requests and the fundamental architectural problems, we trigger the design by strategies and form operation, rather than manifesting any particular styles, to produce a genuinely dynamic contemporary architecture.
Our studio has become much more than a place for architecture production but a starting point for dreams. This platform allows young architects to apply their knowledge and develop themselves in practice. Many interns and former colleagues successfully received offers from famous architectural schools, such as Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA School), The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment (UCL), Delft University of the Technology Polytechnic University of Milan.

自2016年来担任西交利物浦大学建筑系客座设计导师。香港大学、中国美院、苏州大学建筑学院建筑设计课程受邀答辩评委。在西班牙期间就职于Salvador Perez Arroyo Studio, Pios and Rozas Studio等多家著名事务所。2015年回国开办个人工作室。设计实践和研究主要方向为城市更新、既有建筑改造和产业园设计，擅长在制约条件下创造性地挖掘项目潜力，通过空间提升项目品质和价值。
CHEN Dong

CHEN has been the guest studio tutor in the Department of Architecture at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University since 2016. He was also invited as the critics of architectural design courses for the University of Hong Kong, China Academy of Art and Soochow University. During his stay in Spain, he worked for famous architectural offices such as Salvador Perez Arroyo Studio, Pios and Rozas Studio. He returned to China to open his studio in 2015 and founded Howhy Architects in 2018. Focusing on creatively exploiting the project’s potential and improving their economic value by making a change in space, Chen’s expertise is in urban renewal, building renovation and industrial park design.

TANG Chaole

TANG practiced in UAL studio and worked in Suzhou 9-Town Urban Architectural Firm, where he experienced various types of large-scale public projects, such as office buildings, schools, museums and stadiums. His expertise covers the whole process，from conceptual design, preliminary design, construction drawings to the construction field.

曾就职于杭州中联筑境建筑设计有限公司并参与多个大型公共文化类建筑设计。毕业后曾先后任职于启迪设计集团有限公司方案设计所，中衡设计集团股份有限公司国际创意中心，参与的项目包括大型办公楼，体育和文化中心，酒店，产业园等类型的公共建筑设计。

ZHENG worked in TUS Group Co., Ltd., and the International Creative Center of ARTS Group Co., Ltd. He participated in various public projects, including hotels, office buildings, sports and cultural centres, and industrial parks.

WANG worked in ARTS Group Co., Ltd. and Suzhou 9-Town Urban Architectural Firm and has years of experience in large-scale projects. His design and research cover various aspects, such as residential areas, offices, schools, homestays, museums and religious buildings.
